Agent Lee#

  • A raid took place in Red Hook in 1924. Brooklyn police entered Suydam’s apartments at Parker Place and found a warren of tunnels, passages, and canals connecting to the East River. The excavations made possible the secret transit of people under the noses of the authorities.
  • At the age of 60, in 1924, Rober Suydam seemed to grow younger, more same and more coherent.

Agent Nikita#

Proceeded with additional newspaper archive research:

  • According to unofficial reports, Cornelia Suydam, had been clawed, ravaged, or strangled, but one thing was certain: the blood had been drained from her body.
  • Suydam’s was associated with a church in Red Hook, a place of questionable providence, whispered to be linked to evil rituals on nights of the new moon.
  • He rented apartments to house the church’s followers.

Dr. Turner#

Turner visits Elizabeth Cohen, Sandra’s mother, posing as a social worker. She inspects the garden and Sandra’s bedroom, where she finds drawings of Sandra with a large black and white cat. Elizabeth says Sandra talked about chatting with the cat. Turner reassures Elizabeth that her daughter will be found.

A Second Glance at S. Gerritsen Mansion#

They learn that:

  • Strange noises (music?) are heard around the construction site, particularly at night.
  • Proximity alarms have been triggering without anyone being present.
  • Two workers have quit.
  • Tools have been taken and destroyed.
  • Large “racoons” have been seen around.
  • Gomes confided to Dr. Turner that he left a decapitated pigeon wrapped in cowrie shells on the windowsill of Unit 35 after hours Unit 35

Unit 35#

The Agents observe unidentified animal footprints throughout the house. The evidence indicates that the animals are entering and leaving via open windows.

In Unit 35, they find an elaborate piece of wainscoting, which gives Agent Nikita an unnatural scent.

Agent Chen receives permission from Bloomfeld to install infrared surveillance cameras both inside and outside the house. The installation is scheduled for Monday, 6th August 2018.

The Black and White Cat#

After checking the basement for any evidence of the unnatural, the agents are drawn at the back yard by dog barking.

An overweight hippy in sweatpants who smells of urine and body odor, who calls himself Doobie, is shuffling through the industrial bins, while his dog Samson, standing 30 meters away at the head of the alley, furiously barks in his direction.

He tells them that “a bad place man, owned by some Harry Potter dude. Like, magic.”

Agent Lee catches with the corner of his eyes, an unnaturally large black and white cat standing over the edge of the building’s roof.
