Stay the Night#

The agents plan their overnight stay at Gerritsen Mansion.

• Dr. Turner:
  • Convinces Tomás Gomes to let them in the construction site after closing time to take all the necessary measurements for setting up the surveillance system.
  • Arranges to meet Devin Trent-Mawle on Sunday at 18:00 in Prospect Park. He excitedly tells her about the MMO he enjoys playing.
• Agent Lee charms “Peggy” into:
  • Revealing the names of the two workers who quit after a rough night shift:
    • Yardley Manteria (white male, age 25)
    • Noah Arajo (Hispanic male, age 22)
  • Inviting him to her ranch over the weekend. Lee politely declines the offer.

Shopping Spree#

Agent Lee travels to the location of Green Box 1191. He finds the following items:

• Small teakwood-lidded box
  • A small stone dais of elaborate design stands at a slight angle in an orange Home Depot bucket. The dais was obviously removed with a jackhammer. Spray painted on the stone in red paint is “DO NOT TOUCH.” A small teakwood-lidded box sits on the dais.
• AK-47s
  • Fourteen Chinese made AK-47s still packed in crates stamped with Chinese characters, and four cases of Soviet ammunition (20 loaded magazines per case).
• Plastic medical chest brace
  • A plastic medical chest brace with a Glock 19 installed to point inward, toward the chest of whoever wears it. A pneumatic push-button attachment operates the trigger. Inside the chest plate is a long-dried bloodstain.
• Shrinkwrapped bag
  • A shrinkwrapped bag of $125,000 in American dollars with a stamp: PROPERTY OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE. It is covered in yellow, grating dust.
• Half-torn tome
  • A half-torn handwritten tome in Latin. Certain pages are burned. A handwritten note on the back cover reads: “9 9 2 0 .2 2 9 9 8 9 2 1 2 .3 3 3 THIS IS IT.”

He decides to take two AK-47s, then goes out to buy laser pointers, catnip, a bulletproof vest, pepper spray, and tasers.

The Night Employee#

Dr. Turner and Agent Nikita seek out the whereabouts of Yardley Manteria and Noah Arajo.

Turner finds and speaks with Noah Arajo. He describes a night spent frantically chasing down power tools that turned on by themselves, only to be found unplugged. They also heard a group of men talking on the fourth floor, though the words were unclear. After arming themselves with a sledgehammer and pry bar, the two rushed up to find an empty room. Electric tools were laid out on the floor, each power cord braided into a crude noose. Arajo quit the next morning. Neither he nor Manteria reported the strangeness to their foreman.

The Night Watch (Saturday, August 4th, 2018 – Sunday, August 5th, 2018)#

• 19:00 - The agents re-enter Gerritsen mansion. Failing to convince Gomes to share a drink, Agent Nikita knocks him unconscious with a syringe filled with sedatives.
• 20:00 – Entering Unit 35, Nikita feels unease. They lock doors and windows. Gomes is moved inside the apartment, and the agents settle in to wait.
• 23:15 – Agent Lee hears footsteps running outside. Dr. Turner spots a strange animal silhouette at the window. Shining a flashlight at it, she sees a large rat-shaped creature with human hands and a human face. It disappears by climbing upward. Agent Nikita hears whispers from Agent Jocko.
• 03:00 – Tomas Gomes wakes up. Nikita knocks him out again with the butt of her pistol.
• 07:00 – The Agents remove the wainscotting. They place Gomez in his car in the front of the house, then drive off.
• 10:00 – The wainscotting is placed inside the Green Box. Dr. Turner calls the number provided by their handler and informs a female voice on the other end of the line. No further instructions are given.

Strange Visitations#

Around noon, the agents return to the Hilton Brooklyn to rest.

Agent Nikita wakes around 17:00 after hearing someone knock on the door. She doesn’t remember what happened between her awakening and the moment she lay back in bed to sleep.
